Virginia Infant & Toddler Specialist Network RFA for Western Regional Office

Child Development Resources (CDR), contractor for the Virginia Infant & Toddler Specialist Network, has issued a Request for Applications (RFA) to recruit and select one organization located in the Western region of the state to employ and support one highly qualified infant and toddler specialist (ITS). The Western region includes the counties of Bland, Buchanan, Carroll, Dickenson, Grayson, Lee, Russell, Scott, Smyth, Tazewell, Washington, Wise, and Wythe and the cities of Bristol, Galax, and Norton.
The ITS will provide training and professional development to center-based and family home early care and education programs to strengthen practices and enhance the healthy growth and development of infants and toddlers (birth-36 months of age). The infant and toddler specialist must have demonstrated expertise in infant and toddler development, experience with child care or other early childhood settings, excellent planning and time management skills, the ability to mentor and teach adult learners, and the capacity to build collaborative partnerships with stakeholders.
The entity awarded the contract must have demonstrated capacity to employ, supervise, and provide necessary facilities and equipment; commitment to enhancing the quality of care for young children; history of effective financial management; and evidence of collaboration and support from other partners and key stakeholders.
Period of Contract: Upon contract award through June 30, 2017.
